Settling in

I now have internet in my room. I was totally afraid they'd run out of ethernet cables in the student store and I was totally right that they'd run out. Basically, they had us too stuff by grade. So I got the tech lecture, the rules lecture, and then the college lecture, and seniors are last on the list to get stuff from the student store.
To tell you just how out of stock the student store was by then... well, they didn't even have notebook paper. Well, they did for me because I was one of the first seniors in there, but they're out now. They didn't have half the stuff I needed and I'm lucky I got most basic supplies before I left home. If the teachers bitch about me having 1" binders over 1.5", I will tell them to suck it. Unless it's Mr. P. Mr. P needs to write my college recommendation. And honestly, I'm pretty sure he won't care since I barely followed his organization rules last year anyhow.
But I did get the absolute last ethernet cable they had. 15 feet, perfect length for working on the bed, though a bit long for my desk. It was the much coveted cable apparently, since I've had visitors asking after it. No clue why since, well, obviously I'm not going to give it up. Besides, the Target trip is tomorrow. They can buy one there. For cheaper, probably.
Okay, so Wednesday basically sucked. Well, it was alright. I moved in. Set up shop, you know. Did the leadership/team-building stuff they wanted of me. Went to sleep. Thursday involved... pretty much the same, except Andrea showed up. Andrea's my roommate. We were roommates last year too. We've got Inga's old room, actually, which is kinda nice-ish. Yesterday, all the new students showed up and me and Cooper royally failed at being floor leaders.
I live on Custis 1 and I can say, without any doubt, that we are the most awesome hall. Or we will be the most stable hall anyway, I'm sure the others might win on the Awesome-O-Meter and the Fun-O-Meter. We're 3/4 seniors (9/12, to be precise), with only two new students. One's a sophomore, who's totally enthusiastic and... yeah. The other's a freshman who's currently very shy. Hoping her roomie can bring her out a bit since Ann's a happy, chipper sort of girl, but I have my doubts. She seems like a mousey sort of person.
Mrs. Andrews and Mr. Lynch were hoping to have me again this year on Gould 1, or so they claimed. It seems like me and Cooper were the preferred RA duo for most of the dorm parents, actually. Probably because we were the only seniors picked as RAs. Ms. Buccello is our dorm parent and she is made of win. Ms. Yansera (who's new and young and sweet) and Mr Kramer (who is not new and not young anymore, but apparently The Most Awesome Teacher In The School) also live on our hall and are "dorm buddies", which is like, dorm parent minus the responsibility.
Food here still sucks. It's a lot better than last year right now, though I figure it'll get worse as the kitchen staff get lazier.
Custis bathrooms are amazing. Except for the fact that the sink furthest to the left is in the way of the door. I think I nearly slammed the door into the freshman this morning. Can't tell, could've sworn that she was standing by the second sink and screamed for nothing (and the door clearly slammed the sink because humans don't sound like that when hit by a swinging door), but I think I did give her a pretty good scare. I apologized of course.
Our phone is busted. I turned in my cell phone. I at least have email and AIM now. So it's going decent. Tomorrow's a trip to the Coldstone, which I don't really want, but hey why not.
Also went to the doctor since I forgot to get a physical. I gained 15 pounds over the summer. Yep. 15 pounds in three months. Pretty amazing, if I do say so myself.
