Ian McShane is in it. Therefore, I must see it. It's also based of what I hear is a good book, so that's good, though from the trailer, I worry that it's trying to do too much like POTC3. Doesn't really matter what I think, I guess. It's not like they won't get my money.

As an aside, is it just me, or does Blackbeard's ship shoot fiery tits?

Would you believe me if I told you I almost could have been an extra in it? Sadly I couldn't make one of the dates they wanted people to be in Greenwich but I ticked all the other boxes (female, fairly fit, able to handle a sword, passionate about films). Definitely going to see it too though. Saw HP recently and Narnia today and was thinking 'I'd really like to work in film again'. How does the saying go?? Once the bug bites, it bites hard (or so). ;P How are you and how are the essays?

I actually don't know how it goes. I've heard the saying, but it's not commonly in use (in my parts anyway).

Essays are all done! I have only my economics (eek!) and Hungarian final left. The latter I'm not worried about, but the former... well, I lent out my textbook until tomorrow, and then I'll have four hours to read three chapters. Not at all unfeasible, but not ideal either.

hahaha true. I do tend to dress up as a pirate a lot. I saw the first movie 17 times in theaters - though I got various guys to pay for almost all of them, cause i was still in high school and flat broke.

I am firmly in favor of pirates over ninjas. They have more fun. I actually had a very long discussion about this recently at 1AM in the waiting room of the train station of Innsbruck, Austria. Long story. (Though the main point was that it is not worth having a peg leg just so you can kick people with it.)

My opinion of this movie just went from "What? Another one? Do they REALLY think that'll go over well?" to "HOLY FUCK I HAVE TO SEE THIS."

It's Jack Sparrow centered! Well at least going by the trailer. Thank god!

The first pirates movie is still one of my favorites ever, and I love (still love?) Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, but I kind of hate how he's basically Jack Sparrow in all of his others movies now.

...I am possibly more excited for this one because it doesn't have Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom in it though. >_> I kind of want to see it, but it will probably be not as great, but I'm game.
