Okay, so the first episode was genius, especially in the directing and editing departments.  Second and third episodes were slightly less than genius, but lots of fun to watch.  Episode 4 was kinda shit (writer was apparently John Fay; I wonder if this episode was a fluke of bad writing or if he normally sucks), but the denouement and ending were handled with grace.

I have a conflicted opinion on 3x05.  I watched it, somehow, still thinking that there was going to be a happy, victorious ending.  Probably because it was RTD writing it.  I need to re-watch it with a different mindset someday since I think I was focusing too much on kicking alien ass--which was clearly not the ass that really needed kicking.  Anyway, I liked it, just not sure how much.

On the Tanz der Vampire press conference: Marjan seems to have slightly more ability to act and sing than I gave her credit for, though a press conference doesn't mean much in that regard.  But just judging from the little twirls with her dress she does, she's going to be playing a Sarah that's not much more intelligent than her Julia.  Also, Lukas seriously is the wrong guy for Alfred.  Unlike Marjan, I'm still holding out hope that he'll salvage something out of the part and not drag the show down (Marjan I've given up on), but he's always out of character out of the show, so I can't tell anything from this.

The new Herbert is startlingly pretty.

I have yet to watch Days 1, 2, 3 and 4, although I did manage to catch Day 5 last Friday (gosh, this is a late comment). I'm still not sure whether I like Torchwood or not - I've watched half the first season and this 3x05, and I'd watch it if it were on TV, but I'm not so interested that I'd purposely download episodes to watch right now. Anyway, I'm still just a bit pissed that they killed off my favourite character to give any proper judgement on Season 3. And... the little boy died, and the only member of the Torchwood team left on Earth is Gwen, the one that has always irritated me the most. ><

I was rather surprised listening to Marjan's "Irgendwo wird immer getanzt" on the Wien-Osaka concert CD because I actually liked it. I mean, I could hardly stand her Sarah for the TdV part of the concert, but I actually liked listening to Irgendwo and picked it out to listen to again later. Shocking. I guess she isn't as terrible as I first thought. But I have yet to hear anything from Lukas that's going to make me like him.

Yay pretty Herbert. :)

(still awaiting your DVD-package-take-two, but I'm going to China on Monday and so if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'm not going to be able to test the DVDs until mid-August.)

Screw that last bit about the DVDs - I got them this morning and they all work perfectly. :) Thank you!

Good to hear! I'd probably would have tried to bug my uncle to mail them to you in China if it didn't reach you in time. :P

ETA: Marjan's Irgendwo immer getanzt remains the one and only thing from her that I even liked, and I love it. That being said, she still prances around with little girly skirt flips as Sarah during the press conference, and to me, she somehow looked even more vapid than her Julia. In general, I like Lukas though. He's my favorite Rudolf, and his Romeo did a lot of things right. But Alfred's still the wrongest role that could ever be wrong for him.

...Okay, no, he sang as Krolcok in a concert once. That was wronger.
