Worst is over.  I totally got over a 90 on the Chinese exam.  I think.  Couldn't be much lower, so I'm feeling good.  That's an A- secured.  I needed at least a 97 or so to pull out with an A for the semester, and I didn't make it.

For the record, German exam... could've gone better, but it was just fine.  I forgot dumb things as per usual--such as how to ask for the date.  That was embarrassing.  It was a long enough test that the few answers I couldn't remember (almost always the most basic ones) shouldn't have lost me too many points overall.  Hilariously, I think I may have done better on my Chinese exam than the German one.

I'll be leaving for my English exam in... roughly fifteen minutes.  I'd study, but there's nothing really to study.  I walk in.  I write an essay.  I walk out.  A- is an acceptable grade.  An A would be lovely.  A B+ would still average out to give me an A for the semester.  A B would kill my pride.  It would also give me an A-, but I'm more concerned about my pride.

I'll start studying for Econ tonight, I guess.

You're welcome!

Haven't seen it yet, will let you know. ;) (DVD doesn't have the best quality ever and is only act 1, which is a shame, but Willemijn will probably be totally awesome.)

And by virtue of being only Act 1, it's missing Gutes Tun. :( All the German Elphabas sing Gutes Tun wonderfully. The American ones all sound... shrill. And whiny. I remember not even liking that song when I first saw the show on Broadway!

But yes, Willemijin will probably be totally awesome.

True. :( Gutes Tun is one of my favs from the show. It's just WOW when sung with the right vocal capacity.
You've seen the show? Awesome. I hope I can see it in Stuttgart, but I think the chances are very small lol. It's coming to the Netherlands apparently, so I'll probably see it then.

Yeah, I've seen it on Broadway, and it hurts me to say that the best moment in it for me was right at the beginning. There was this big dragon head at the top of the stage, and I thought it was just decoration (because it was huge!) and it totally roared to life and started glowing and everything.

It's a fun show, but I wasn't impressed with it musically until I listened to Stuttgart's OCR. Broadway does tend to cast actors with voices that can belt (Will, Roberta, and Sabrina all don't hit the last few notes of Defying Gravity with the same energy as the American Elphabas), but outside of the end of Act 1 and maybe Glinda in general, the songs are really much more powerful when sung by more melodic voices.

Oh, and Mark Seibert? Never liked him. Then I watched that VOB with Sabrina as Elphaba. He's a really good Fiyero!

Hehe awww...
Germans tend to be better in general. I'm not trying to sound biased but I can't help it. They have the better language, anyway. ^^;
And well, I think they do Frei Und Schwerelos good enough lol. The only one who impressed me more vocalwise is Kerry Ellis.

Lol, I loved him on the VOBs too! Awesome dancing haha!

I seem to think it's a little easier to rhyme and keep rhythm in German, at least.

But yes, the dancing. I loved that. He had so much charisma than whoever it was I saw on Broadway. That Fiyero was just... kinda there.

Somehow, German fits this musical better.. German is a stronger language I think, at least, it sounds more powerful when you hear it. (That's the feeling I get anyway!) It works for this musical. :)

Haha yes I love him. I wish I could see Mathias Edenborn too, but well, Mark is a good enough Fiyero to keep me satisfied. XD

Hey, you know what? They included Gutes Tun!!! I found it so odd that there was an extra file after the curtain call for Act 1, but it turned out to be Gutes Tun :D Yay for Willemijn on Gutes Tun!
Not that great video quality, but awesome anyway. :D
