So that guy I posted about just, uh, about two posts down for most of you. For me, I've got something like 10 private reminder-to-self entries inbetween, but hey.

Anyhow, it's kinda just nice for me to see some ASOIAF moments acted out.

I'm mostly underwhelmed by his Jon, but I really liked his second Jon monologue--it wasn't emo, and pulling off Jon without being emo is pretty important to me. He also pronounced Arya "Arr-ee-ah", which made me blink. I've always just said "Arr-yah". I interpreted the Theon scenes differently (less intense for the first, and far colder for the second), but I liked those too. I wonder what his neighbors thought of the screaming going on when he recorded the second monologue. I think everything else was pretty spot-on, minus Renly's laugh being rather evil.

Also: ROAAAR!!!

Didn't watch it and haven't heard the Arya thing, but read about it in Sorting a while back already. Arr-yah was said to be GRRM's pronouncing for it, and as a Finn I was forced to think of which I subscribe to in the end when we read things differently. It's slightly closer to A(h)-ry-a to me, our y always being a vowel. A(h)-ri-(y)a perhaps. It's nothing like (opera) arias either, which is what I interpret that arr-ee-ah as. Arr-yah is like Arja in Finnish names, and sounds extremely unromantic in the "I'm 40 something, grey and dull and possibly have an alcohol problem on the side". Which I assume wasn't aimed at.

He doesn't look anything like Jon though. Theon perhaps, but somehow he looks mostly like a Baratheon to me. Not Renly, but still. Shall have to check what the Theon scenes are like then. And ah, should have read your post fully before commenting, I see he did Renly material as well then.

Well, English is stupid in that A-ry-a and Ar-ya are both perfectly legitimate readings. Pretty much any name that ends with the -ia sound (not a heavy ee-ah as you say, but a lighter sound) just sounds really pretty, girly, and wussy to me. Ending a girl's name with -a just makes it feminine, but the -ia adds pixie dust and rainbows.

He looks too old to be Jon imo, though he does look significantly younger without the shadow. He has the look for Waymar, though I admit I saw Waymar as more of a prettyboy. His Viserys monologues are great too.

Gloria?

I can't remember who the hell Waymar is. Is he in at the end of AGOT (which still haven't read, la la la) or is he the spoiled brat at the start?
