I am not actually dropping Chinese so much as I am discontinuing it.  Bolded text is fun.  I don't do that very often.  Okay.  Moving on.  You all count yourself lucky that I already vented my rage on[livejournal.com profile] geozine .  Now you don't have to listen to me whine about my Chinese paper.

Anyhow, I stayed up to 3AM reading a play for English.  We were going to have a quiz on it, and I couldn't afford to blow it off.  Well, I woke up this morning, did my usual morning routine short of getting dressed, then I checked my email (yes, I check my email before I get dressed).  Class was canceled.  The professor's kid is sick.  So I went back to sleep.  If I had stayed awake, I could've done my homework for my economics seminar.  But I didn't.

I'm mostly annoyed because it's due time my English prof returned our paper in that class.  I'm curious what my grade was.  I did get my politics paper back.  That grade was so high that I am genuinely planning on going in and asking how the hell I got that grade.  Because you don't deserve any higher than a low A when you haven't even done the reading.

Also, I need to stop slacking off.  I don't say this in the sense that I need to stop slacking off in order to become a better person, because I don't much care about that right now.  I just need to stop slacking off because I'm not retaining information as well.  If there's anything I hate, it's wasting time.  I don't like having to go over things twice.  I'm not accustomed to it.  I just don't have the energy to actively pay attention in class.

Well at least you're finally getting on that need-to-stop-slacking-off idea. I was wondering when that was going to happen...

You know, I've actually been on the ball for the most part. I didn't start slacking off for real until last week. It's been pretty bad.

Aah, yup. Figured as much. On that note, I am so glad my Soc teacher moved that essay to be due next Tuesday... Instead of tomorrow.

I can't wait for break. One more week! I think I'll be skipping Wednesday's class and just come home on Tuesday night. <3

You can't wait for break?

I haven't been home since the beginning of September. I haven't been to a mall since the beginning of September. Admittedly, there are malls here, they're just... not convenient.

More importantly, I haven't gotten my eyebrows waxed since September. My plucking job is pretty good, but it's a pain in the ass.

You are/were learning Chinese? Lol, sounds far too difficult for me. o_O

The giving-back-stuff-late seems to be a characteristic for English teachers. I've never had one who gives us our grades etc. quickly!

Chinese is a lot easier if it's your native language. :P Then again, if the teacher and the textbook are both absolutely useless, it suddenly becomes a lot more difficult, not to mention very unpleasant.

Yeah, you're right now that I think about it. I don't think I've ever had an English teacher that gave back papers within, say, a week. This one's actually been pretty good about it, all things considered.

Auwch. =/ I know what you mean; I've had the same problem with Latin..

Hehe aww. :) My teacher this year is quite awful with those things. She was quick though with the grades for the test in the test week. But when I think about it.. she took 3 weeks or so to correct our Hamlet stuff. >>
English teachers *shakes head*

Yeah, the unfortunate thing is that my professor actually assigns us the exercises in the textbook for homework. The textbook is so awful that it actually throws in and makes us use characters that aren't even taught until later chapters.

English teachers are a special breed.

Yes. It makes me want to cry inside.

Actually, it kind of makes me want to hit something inside, but you get the idea. :P
