A conversation with my roommate

So I was chilling on my laptop.  It was about fifteen minutes into dinner, with fifteen minutes left before I had to show up for attendance/announcements.  My roommate had just left for dinner.

My door bangs open.
Roomie: "RACHEL!"
Oh, fuck.  Is the world ending?
Roomie: "COME TO DINNER."
Oh, FUCK.  Did I miss announcements?
Roomie: "I need someone to sit with. :("
Me: "...What?"

Yes, there was a :(.  She didn't say it, but I could HEAR it.
