Almost done with DN
Near's cool and all, but he's just not as dynamic an antagonist as L. He's a more dangerous one though. I do think he's smarter than L, but not necessarily better. Near's too cautious. And it didn't pay off since he would've died in the end if it weren't for Mello being a crazy bastard.
Misa... please die. My brain cannot cope with your chirpy happiness. Nothing personal.
I really wonder what Obata was smoking when he came up with Matt's character design. Not that he looks bad--he doesn't--he just looks a bit kooky. Yes, kooky.
You know, the first thing I noticed about Matt (besides that he'd totally look better without his jacket) was the relationship between him and Mello was pretty much a relationship of peers, it seemed to me. Obviously, there's a more aggressive/dominant personality between them, but even so, it's a jarring change from how most followers are treated. It makes Matt seem like a more major character than he is, like he's more than just another mindless minion. Seems like that's all he was though. He only shows up in 14 panels. Me and Sonya counted.
Takada's double D's aren't as noticeable in the manga, which is pleasant.
Ide and Matsuda's antics amuse me. "This is love!" spake Matsuda. "This is bad! Turn it off!" spake Ide.
Takada annoys me so much. She's just got no depth at all. At all. She's just this sophisticated, well-educated lady that happens to be totally in love with Light and Kira. Why? Who the hell knows. I tried to like her, I really did. At first, I thought she was such a welcome change to Misa, then I realized she wasn't any better. In fact, she was pretty much worse. I can't really explain why. There's some potential in Misa, I want to know about her past. Her parents, her almost-death. There's some hints that she's far more than she seems, nothing more than hints unfortunately, but at least they're there. I suppose you could say the same for Takada but...
Well, when it comes down to it, I respect Takada a lot more than I do Misa. Doesn't mean I like her more though.

I'm glad you all of tiny FLs else I'd be spamming your friends page. Not that I'd feel bad about it, but still. Anyhow, only two volumes left, so the FL spammage should cease pretty soon. Well, no it won't, I lied. By the time I'm done, FF12 will probably show up in the mail. You all know what that means.
