In summary: Bryan Fuller's influences clearly seen in a few places here and there. The opening montage and Claire's short-lived roommate both reeked of him. Shame he hasn't stuck around though, but I hear he's mapped out some plotlines. As for the plotlines, they're great. Neat, precise, a couple of characters to each and some connecting ties to others, very clean. It feels as if the cast isn't as big as it is with how well coordinated it all is. Also, the carnies are wonderful.
A few downsides:I have no clue how Claire's storyline ties into the rest, and her scenes will probably fall victim to fastforwarding on rewatches. I feel like Claire's character is doing the right thing in sticking with normality though, so that's good. HRG also nearly dies twice, which is silly, and we need to recruit a new dude in distress. Hiro's storyline seems a bit vague right now, and I really hope he won't really be hopping back in time each episode to right his wrongs since that'd be really, really boring.
I look forward to seeing Mohinder again, and I'm really hoping he'll be restored into some sentient character I can love again.

1) I've somehow managed to make myself open to the idea of adding in a new character. I think I just really like the look of this guy. In other news, I really love hearing that old theme song again. It feels really right.
2) Fuck. You're starting the new season with CLAIRE???? Come on She's only the most boring character. You better have an ace up your sleeve, Mr. Fuller. --Okay. That was a good scene.
3) HIRO AND ANDO BILLBOARD!!! I'm not sure I like the actress for the sister, but she's not really a 3D character just yet anyhow.
4) Peter is awesome again, I feel. He's his adorkable self. I like his medic buddy.
5) What was with Claire's being shot thing?
6) Whoa, Tracey. I really like how she's introduced (well, not introduced since she's never shown herself). I think the writer's have learned how to use minimal amounts of subtlety so far this episode.
7) Ohshit, Hiro! You'll never become ninja!Hiro if you die!
8) Claire's acting still bugs me, but it's not really driving me up a wall, which is nice. I've been liking her scenes, minus the random one with her getting shot.
9) I really, really like the new character, the bigwig of the carnies, whatever his name is. I wonder what their interest in Danko is.
10) THE HAITIAN!!!! YES!!!!!
11) The guitar hero scene amuses me. One of the few moments of my life where I've liked Panetierre's acting.
12) Omg Hiro. D: Those kids are an incredible likeness in the photo.
13) I love the carnies. Also, loving the storytelling of this episode. The Sylar/Nathan bits are great, and I am even enjoying the Claire scenes. I have to admit that HRG and Tracey still aren't too interesting right now.
14) Is Matt hallucinating? Guess not. Huh. I guess that's an interesting twist for Sylar.
15) Okay, I'm feeling better about Noah and Tracey. (Anyone know what Mohinder's up to?) They've clearly got some sort of story written up for them to explore. Nice knowing that she's not useless for once.
16) Bleh. Want Sylar/Mohinder.
17) I adore Matt and Janice. I hope Sylar doesn't fuck with that relationship.
18) Best line so far, Peter: "Want something to drink? I've got... water and... mustard?" Hey, he mentioned Dr. Suresh. WTB more Mohinder. And more Claude and Micah while I'm at it, but I don't expect them to show up in every episode either. (That line is quickly followed up by another from Peter, "How fast?")
19) Sylar at AA is great. Sylar is always great. Mohinder needs to show up for a hilarious slashy love triangle.
20) Good that Ando's getting love. Hoping Hiro won't really start going back to right all wrongs though. I thought he still hadn't gotten control of his powers quite right?
