Sep. 3rd, 2009 12:28 pmHoly fucking hell. Cable TV is expensive. I should've brought my checkbook since I will now need to find the damn ATM machine on campus (seriously, where the fuck is it??????) to pull out $65 just for installation fees. Granted, $25 of that is just a deposit that'll be returned to me eventually provided I don't break the cable box. I've also chosen to get Standard cable rather than Basic, so I actually have Comedy Central (The Daily Show and Colbert Report consist of the huge majority of my TV watching), but jesus. That's also expensive. $55/month is actually better than I expected awful.
My complaint of the day: So I was just on 112th St at the Duane Reade (I concur with
emago, because while I think four blocks is hardly a distance to walk, it's really surprisingly that there's no closer DR, though perhaps there is one if I head north instead of south), and on the way back, my shoe broke. I found that if I walked like a strutting horse clopping around, the shoe would stay on.
I also now have awful seats to West Side Story (right balcony, fourth row, seat 8 [higher the number, the further from the center]). Okay, so they're okay seats. I've had worse and worst. And it was $10, so I can't even complain.
