Back around 1987 or so, when Wild Cards was new and we only had a couple of books out, I was approached at a convention by a skinny young British writer, all in black, who had an idea he wanted to pitch me for the series, a character who lived in dreams. I thanked him but told him we had all the writers we needed. The neophyte, of course, was Neil Gaiman, and the character was Morpheus. Obviously I'd like to have a do-over on that one.

That's GRRM, on his Wild Cards comic series.  I found that amusing.

TWO MORE WEEKS UNTIL WINTER BREAK.  TWO OF THE MOST DRAMA-FILLED, HIGH-STRUNG, SHORT-TEMPERED WEEKS OF THE YEAR.

TWO MORE WEEKS UNTIL MY EARLY ACTION RESPONSE.  TWO OF THE MOST GODDAMNED, NERVE-WRACKING WEEKS OF MY LIFE THUS FAR.

I invited Bo's family to my home for Christmas break.  They'll pick me up from school on the 21st and I'll stay over for a night and then we'll all drive to my home on the 22nd.  In hindsight, I probably should've checked with my parents first.  It's probably okay since their visit is long belated (the reason the basement has one king-sized futon and one twin-sized futon is in anticipation of their visit which, after an entire year, still hasn't come yet), but even so.

ETA: In hindsight, it's actually only 18 days, because class ends on the 20th.  I'll be here on the morning of the 21st, but break's already begun as of 9:00PM on the 20th.
