Let's just say I found that "I" accepted very quickly Maxim's description of her evilness without that much concrete examples. Of course, since she had been indulging in all those jealous fantasies about Rebecca's perfection and Maxim's undying love for her, she was happy to accept anything as long as it meant Maxim loved her and not Rebecca. The story is certainly an interesting study in jealousy.
