First, a question: What do you consider a major turning point in European history? It has to be post 1870, and it could be political event, intellectual or cultural trend, social moments, or what have you. Doesnt have to be biggest or bestest turning point, just well-supported. I'm thinking about going with Darwinism at the moment.

Anyway, I just saw Red. It's about Rothko, a 90-minute two-man show with just him and his assistant. It was unbelievably fantastic and beautiful and eloquent, and there's not much I can say about it that the reviews haven't already. Also, the use of lights was fantastic. While I do hope it wins every Tony it was nominated for (though I don't see that happening), I would be very upset if it doesn't win Best Lighting. Granted, I haven't seen its competition, but I'm not sure how you can top what Red's got.

I'm thinking about buying tickets for the final performance in June. I probably will. The real question is whether I want premium tickets or not. I think I do.

ETA: Also, forgot to mention Eddie Redmayne is sexy. Happily, he is also a fantastic actor. Then again, I probably wouldn't have found him very attractive if he weren't a fantastic actor.
